Arsenal and Bayern Munich are set to fight for the signature of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya this summer.

The 27-year-old Spanish international has confirmed he will not sign a new contract with the Bees in a bid to try and push through a move this summer.

David Raya set to leave Brentford

Raya has appeared for Brentford already this pre-season but the club’s vice-captain is attracting the attention of Premier League giants Arsenal, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen on bringing in another potential number-one goalkeeper to put pressure on current net-tender Aar0n Ramsdale- in order to keep the England international’s standards high after two successive impressive seasons.

According to Fabrizio Romano, however, German champions Bayern Munich are also set to step up their efforts to sign Raya after having a loan move rejected by Thomas Frank’s side. It would be Raya’s preference to remain in London and move to Arsenal with the La Masia graduate’s excellent distribution skills one of the key factors as to why Arteta is so determined on bringing his Spanish compatriot to the Emirates Stadium.
