Chelsea have added USMNT and Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams to their list of potential summer transfer targets.

After spending $30m on fellow midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu, Todd Boehly’s Blues are now back in the market to add more depth and experience to the middle of the park, with Adams and Ajax’s Edson Alvarez under consideration.

USMNT captain Adams is believed to have a relegation clause in his contract which became active when Leeds dropped out of the Premier League last season.

The 24-year-old is still recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered back in March which caused him to miss the Yorkshire outfit’s relegation run-in last term and would be keen on a return to the English top flight.

As for Alvarez, 25, the Mexican defensive midfielder has been on the radar of the Blues since last summer according to The Times’ Gary Jacob, and has also attracted interest from West Ham, Newcastle United, and Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.
