Newcastle United face a fight to secure one of their summer transfer targets, as Everton are showing an interest in Oumar Solet.

The Magpies have been long-term admirers of the 23-year-old, but their interest could be stepped up following rumors that the Toffees could be set to make a bid.

Oumar Solet open to Premier League move

The defender is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Solet came through the youth academy at Laval, before moving to Lyon in 2018. However, the Frenchman moved on from the Ligue 1 club in 2020 after failing to secure regular game time.

But, he has found a home for himself at RB Salzburg, as he has played nearly 100 times in three years with the club.

He was also an ever-present for the Austrian side in the Champions League last term, playing all six matches in the group stage.
