Champions League qualifiers Newcastle United have agreed a fee with Southampton for the exciting 20-year-old Tino Livramento.

London-born Livramento left Chelsea’s youth academy for Southampton at just 18 and was immediately a breath of fresh air in a relatively defensive side under Austrian coach Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Tino Livramento agrees Newcastle move

However, after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament at the end of the 2021-2022 season, Livramento was ruled out for over a year. In his absence, the Saints were relegated from the Premier League and talks began with The Magpies in June in the knowledge they would be unable to keep Livramento for their upcoming Championship campaign.

The news was first broke by Sky Sports who are reporting an initial fee to be $38m plus add-ons. The 20-year-old’s ceiling is extremely high and, if he stays fit, Livramento can contribute to Newcastle immediately and develop under bright young coach Eddie Howe in the future.
