Liverpool will already be preparing for their Premier League opener against Chelsea on Sunday, but the latest reports from the Middle East could scupper their plans.
Salah is a key target for Al-Ittihad, and an $80 million wage could be offered to the 31-year-old if their bid is accepted.
Liverpool will fight to keep hold of their star attacker, who has scored 186 goals in 305 games since moving from AS Roma in 2017.
Salah has been a key part of the Reds team that has won the Champions League and Premier League titles in recent seasons.
