USMNT captain Tyler Adams has seen his dream move to Premier League giants Chelsea collapse at the last minute this afternoon.

According to Sky Sports, Adams has fallen victim to Chelsea’s ongoing battle with Liverpool for the signature of fellow defensive midfielder Moises Caicedo with the Blues prepared to walk away from a deal for Adams despite the USMNT star completing his final medical examinations yesterday after his $25.5m relegation clause was triggered yesterday.

The news is likely to unsettle Adams who had thought all week he was set to move to West London. According to British reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Adams is now expected to return to Yorkshire ahead of Leeds’ match against Birmingham City tomorrow afternoon.

Adams has been linked with a move to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion today instead, with the Seagulls set to lose standout defensive midfielder Caicedo for a British record transfer fee imminently.
