The Red Devils bid farewell to fellow reserve shot-stopper Matej Kovar– who had his move confirmed to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen confirmed this morning.

Nottingham Forest were interested in re-signing Henderson on a season-long loan for a second consecutive season but United head coach Erik Ten Hag wants to keep the England international to provide honest competition for new signing Andre Onana according to Sky Sports.

With long-standing number one David De Gea leaving the club last month combined with an injury suffered to Tom Heaton in pre-season training, Ten Hag has informed Henderson he remains a key part of his plans for this season.

Henderson was an unused substitute for the Red Devils in their unconvincing 1-0 win against Wolves last night.
