Reigning Champions League winners Manchester City have today agreed a fee of $65m with French club Rennes for winger Jeremy Doku.

Speculation over the 21-year-old’s future begin to mount after Doku was left out of the starting lineup for Rennes’ Ligue 1 match at Lens yesterday. The Cityzens focused their attention on sealing a transfer for the Belgian international over the weekend after pulling out of moves for Lucas Paqueta and Michael Olise.

According to Fabrizio Romano, medical examinations are set for Doku this week in Manchester ahead of a move that is expected to be completed by the weekend. Doku has already agreed terms with Pep Guardiola’s men and could be registered in time for City’s next match which is a trip to Sheffield United on Sunday.

The fee for Doku is set to be paid in a series of installments after three weeks’ worth of negotiations between City and Rennes. The right-winger scored six goals during the second half of last season, helping Rennes to a fourth-place finish and qualification to the Europa League.
