Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad are set to test Liverpool’s resolve and offer $162m for star forward Mohamed Salah.

According to CBS Sports’ James Benge, The Tigers have made the Egyptian their highest priority this summer and remain confident they can prise one of Liverpool’s major assets with the Pro League transfer window not set to close until September 20.

Al Ittihad set to go all out for Mo Salah

Al Ittihad are prepared to go all out in an attempt to secure Salah in a deal that would smash the current Pro League transfer record.

The Reds have been adamant all summer that Salah is not for sale and his importance to the team was exemplified again yesterday after a terrific assist for Darwin Nunez’s match-winner in an improbable 2-1 win at Newcastle United with just 10 men.

On the matter, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp said on Friday: “Mo Salah is a Liverpool player and essential for everything we do. My life philosophy is I think about a problem when I have it, and there is absolutely nothing at the moment.”
