Manchester City are confident in landing the signature of Wolves’ Matheus Nunes before the Friday transfer deadline.
City manager Pep Guardiola described Nunes as “one of the best players in the world” after his side’s Champions League round of 16 match against Sporting Lisbon last year.

With the transfer window set to close on Friday, City will need to move quickly to seal a deal for Nunes, who has reportedly already agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions.
Nunes moved to Wolves last summer for a club-record transfer fee and has quickly established himself as one of the club’s best players.
According to Fabrizio Romano, City have made a bid worth in excess of $65m for the 25-year-old Portuguese international and are hoping to seal a deal to help ease the burden of first-choice central midfielder Rodri- who made a total of 56 appearances for the Cityzens last season in their historic treble-winning campaign.
