Chelsea center forward Romelu Lukaku has completed his loan move to Serie A side Roma this morning.

The news has been announced via the club’s official website in recent minutes and confirms that the 30-year-old has joined the Giallorossi on a season-long loan until 30 June 2024.

Lukaku’s deal does not include an option to buy clause at the end of the season- at which point the Belgian hitman will return to parent club Chelsea for a third time.

Speaking to the club’s in-house media team, Lukaku said for the first time as a Roma player, “The welcome I’ve received from this club and its fans has excited me and given me even more motivation to give my all for my new team. As an opponent, I felt the atmosphere of the Stadio Olimpico and felt the warmth of the Romanisti.

“It’s nice to know I’m a part of it today. I recently got the opportunity to speak with the owners, and I was impressed by their ambition.”

Lukaku will wear the number 90 shirt for the Yellow and Reds- the same number he wore on loan at Italian rivals Inter Milan last season.
