Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of versatile forward Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest on a long-term deal.

The Nottingham-born striker, 22, joined Forest’s academy at the age of eight and followed in the footsteps of his father David in playing up front for the Tricky Trees.

The transfer was announced via Spurs’ official social media platforms at the same minute the transfer deadline in the UK shut.

Johnson’s deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will run until June 2029. The Wales international enjoyed a terrific debut season in the Premier League last term, scoring eight league goals in a side that just managed to beat the Premier League drop.

Johnson is set to rival Richarlison for the role of Spurs’ central striker this season and will wear the number 22 jersey for the Lilywhites.

Forest are, as it stands, set to replace Johnson with ex-Liverpool striker Divock Origi- who successfully completed his medical in Nottingham earlier on deadline day. However, the East Midlanders are in for a nervy wait to find out from the Premier League if they submitted all of the correct documentation in time for the 11 PM BST deadline.
