Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco has arrived in Saudi Arabia ahead of his permanent transfer to Pro League outfit Al Shabab.
The versatile 30-year-old, who helped Los Colcheneros to the 2019-2020 La Liga title during his second stint at the club, agreed personal terms ahead of a $16.2m move last week.
Al Shabab expected to complete Yannick Carrasco signing
The Belgian international had a clause in his contract for a possible move to Barcelona. Despite the Catalans’ head coach Xavi Hernandez showing initial interest in Carrasco, the club decided not to take this option up.
According to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Carrasco is expected to be unveiled as an official Al Shabab player later today on his 30th birthday. The wide-forward has signed a three-year contract after completing his medical overnight in the Gulf State.
