Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann was not tempted to move to the Saudi Pro League this summer despite speculation linking him with a move away.
The 32-year-old is in his second spell at the Mattress Makers after returning from La Liga rivals Barcelona in 2021, initially on a season-long loan.
Antoine Griezmann to stay at Atletico Madrid
Griezmann left Atletico for the Catalans in acrimonious circumstances in 2019 and has had to work hard to earn the support and trust of the club’s fans since returning to the Spanish capital.
However, Griezmann’s exceptional performances last season went a long way to re-building broken relationships as he was named La Liga Player of the Month for March and included in the La Liga Team of the Season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Griezmann was offered a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer but is completely focused this season on Atleti, who have made a very good start to this season, gaining seven points from a possible nine so far.
Antoine Griezmann was never tempted by proposals or approaches this summer. Saudi clubs wanted to bid by offering huge salary but it was not even a topic for Griezmann 🔴⚪️🔒 #Atléti

Rumors that Griezmann made contact with Paris Saint-Germain this summer are also thought to be well wide of the mark as the second striker is determined to put things right at the Civitas Metropolitano.
