Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia has suffered a muscle tear in his ankle during a training session on Friday.
The former Manchester City man is yet to make his debut for the Blues following his $73.8m move from Southampton last month and is now set to wait even further on the sidelines as he recovers from a potentially serious injury.

The 19-year-old publically turned down the opportunity to join Liverpool in favor of a move to Todd Boehly’s side despite the Blues also going ahead with the transfer of fellow young defensive midfielder Moises Caicedo for an all-time record Premier League transfer fee.

Lavia earned his stripes as a youngster in the youth academy at Manchester City and moved on to the Saints last summer.
The Belgian international joins Benoit Badiashile, Christopher Nkunku, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, and Carney Chukwuemeka on the treatment table in West London.
