Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been ruled out of action for several weeks with a suspected hamstring injury.

The 25-year-old defender suffered the injury during the latter stages of the Red Devils’ 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Wan-Bissaka started Saturday’s match on the bench due to illness but was brought on as a second-half substitute by head coach Erik Ten Hag for out-of-form center-back Lisandro Martinez.

The news was confirmed by Sky Sports News and sees United suffer a further injury to the squad following the knocks suffered to fellow defenders Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Raphael Varane already this season.

New signings Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat are also currently unavailable for Erik Ten Hag’s men, who travel to Bayern Munich for a tough-looking Champions League opener in Bavaria on Wednesday night.
