Treble winners Manchester City are close to completing the signing of England under 17 international midfielder Divine Mukasa from West Ham United.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Mukasa is the latest signing to be made by the Cityzens’ youth academy from West Ham following the signing of 19-year-old central defender Jamal Baptiste last month.

A long-term contract has been agreed between City and Mukasa with a deal expected to be formally announced by the club within the next 48 hours.

As reported by West Ham supporters website Hammers.news, Mukasa shone as a 15-year-old in West Ham under 18’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal last season, a result that clinched the league title for the youngsters.

Driving forward from attacking midfield, Mukasa is another outstanding signing snapped up by Sky Blues’ youth setup as their academy continues to play a role in the club’s long-term project.
