Barcelona look set to end the long-term talks that Frenkie de Jong could depart the club, as the Spanish side have prioritized a fresh deal for the Dutchman.
Recent reports at Sport have claimed that the La Liga champions are set to offer the 26-year-old an improved deal, despite his current deal running until 2026.

De Jong’s long-term future at the Nou Camp has been in the balance throughout the last two summer transfer windows.
Man United were reportedly close to landing the midfielder last summer, but de Jong was keen to stay at Barcelona and fight for his place.
The Dutchman signed for the Spanish giants in January 2019, before completing a $75 million move from Ajax in the summer.
He has been a standout player for Barcelona throughout his career at the club, having played 189 times across all competitions, scoring 16 times.
De Jong has played a crucial role in the success achieved by the club, having won the La Liga title as well as the Supercopa de Espana and Copa del Rey since 2020.
