Chelsea full-back Marc Cucurella is eyeing a January exit to end his Stamford Bridge outfit after a dismal start to the season.

The Spanish international has not played a single minute in the Premier League- with his only substitute appearance coming against Wimbledon in the League Cup.

Marc Cucurella wants Chelsea departure

In a cruel twist of fate, it was this appearance that scuppered a move to Manchester United on a season-long loan with Premier League rules stating that Cucurella could not appear for a third club this season if he was returned by the Red Devils at Stamford Bridge in January.

Cucurella was hugely disappointed at missing out on a move to Old Trafford and according to The Sun’s Andy Dillon, Real Madrid are keeping tabs on the situation with a view to a possible loan for the second half of the season.

Cucurella joined Chelsea for an extraordinary $75m last summer from Brighton, a record fee received by The Seagulls at the time.
