Chelsea are expected to announce sports data company Infinite Athlete as their new front-of-shirt sponsor for this season later today.

Todd Boehly’s Blues have begun this season without a sponsor on the front of their club’s kits for the first time since the 1986-87 season.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the deal will be worth $48.5m per season and will see the American tech website replace mobile network Three as the club’s main advertisement.

Infinite Athlete describes itself as “the comprehensive and industry-leading platform for sports technology” and is already promoting Chelsea on its company website.

The company was established this year after a merger involving Tempus Ex Machina, which signed a seven-year partnership at Stamford Bridge in April.

The deal is likely to be a huge relief to Todd Boehly who is in desperate need of providing further capital after another expensive outlay of new players in the summer transfer window.

Earlier this month, Chelsea hosted representatives from Saudi Arabian airline Riyadh Air but a deal was not forthcoming.
