Manchester City have agreed a deal with Al-Ahli, which will see Riyad Mahrez end his stay in the Premier League this summer.

The Algerian international has been a key target for the Saudi Pro League club throughout the summer, and the deal now appears to be close after the two clubs agreed to a $40 million fee, according to the BBC.

Manchester City appeared willing to allow Mahrez to complete the move, as he was already given permission to miss the pre-season tour to South Korea and Japan.

The Algerian made it clear to the club that he wished to make the move to the Middle East. Mahrez has been at City since signing from Leicester City for $70 million in 2018.

The winger scored 15 goals in 47 games in City’s treble-winning campaign. However, he was an unused substitute in both the FA Cup and Champions League finals.
