Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed Australian Ange Postecoglou as their new manager on a four-year contract.

The 57-year-old has left Scottish champions Celtic after two years in charge of the Glasgow giants. In an official club statement, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said of the appointment: “We are excited to have Ange join us. Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play.”

“He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy- everything that is important to our club”, Levy added.

Ange Postecoglou appointed as new Spurs coach until 2027

Postecoglou becomes the first ever Australian to manage in the Premier League and his appointment marks an end to the 72 days that Tottenham have gone without a permanent head coach since parting ways with ex-Chelsea Antonio Conte boss back in March.

Postecoglou also becomes Spurs’ fourth permanent manager since sacking club legend Mauricio Pochettino in 2019 and his first job will be to convince England captain Harry Kane to stay at the club following speculation he is set to leave with Real Madrid and Manchester United both reportedly interested.
