Fantasy Football ones to watch season 2018/19 gameweek 14

|

We are back with our ones to watch to watch for gameweek 14 of FPL. Our gameweek 13 stars flopped, although we did see Lucas Digne pick up six points. Anyway, here are our choices for gameweek 14:

Matt Doherty (Wolves, £4.9m)

The Republic of Ireland international has gained something of a cult following in the FPL community for his attacking potential from his wing-back position. However, after a good start to the campaign, Doherty has struggled to collect points in recent weeks.

However, his underlying stats suggest that a return to the points is on the cards in the near future. Doherty is in the top three for shots on goal amongst defenders in the last five gameweeks, having produced seven shots, three of which have been on target.

Doherty is also second only to Lucas Digne in the defender’s stats for creating scoring opportunities, supplying nine chances for his teammates. A trip to Cardiff on Friday night should offer the defender a chance to add to his points tally at both ends of the field.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace, £4.2m)

While Crystal Palace have struggled for results this season, their young right-back has been a force to be reckoned with in the top-flight. Wan-Bissaka has been a popular budget choice since the beginning of the campaign.

At £4.2m for a player 12 of the Eagles 13 top-flight games this season, he represents a bargain. Palace have only kept four clean sheets in the league this season, but one of those was last time out at Manchester United.

A home game against struggling Burnley on Saturday offers both Palace and Wan-Bissaka the chance to pick up points.

James Maddison (Leicester, £6.8m)

The midfielder’s productivity has dipped slightly in recent months after a stellar start to life in the Premier League. In fact, the former Norwich star has produced no points in his last five matches for the Foxes, leading to mass sales of the youngster.

However, Maddison has still remained active when it comes to creating chances for his teammates, as he has created a chance every 32 minutes for his teammates. He has also created 16 chances from set pieces, which ranks him third overall for that particular stat. Those set-piece duties could prove to be a good source of points for the midfielder, whose value has now dropped to £6.8m.

Leicester are slight favourites to beat Watford at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets have managed just two clean sheets in their last 12 outings in the English top-flight, which suggests they could be perfect opponents for Maddison to add to his FPL haul tally against.

Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace, £6.7m)

Crystal Palace have endured a miserable campaign this season in the Premier League. One of the reasons for the Eagles struggles this season has been a lack of goals, as main man Wilfried Zaha has struggled for form.

However, Zaha has scored three of the Eagles eight league goals this season. The Ivory Coast international has also produced two assists in an Eagles team bereft of confidence.

Zaha has started showing signs that his form is returning of late, and a home game against Burnley this weekend could be the ideal opportunity for the former United player to return to the scoresheet.
