Five Premier League new boys who have impressed this season

|

The international break often gives us a chance to catch up on what has happened in club football. Today we are going to look at five Premier League new boys who have made a big impact early in the season:

Teemu Pukki (Norwich)

The Finland international was prolific last season in the Canaries promotion campaign, netting 29 goals. The 29-year-old has continued his rich vein of form in the Premier League, scoring five goals in his first four appearances in the English top-flight.

The striker’s goals could be vital for the struggling Canaries if they are going to fly out of the relegation zone. Daniel Farke’s side are now one of the favourites to suffer the drop.

Mason Mount (Chelsea)

Although the young midfielder has been contracted to Chelsea for all of his professional career, it is only this season that the youngster has actually featured in the Blues first-team.

The 20-year-old previously enjoyed productive loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem and last season Derby in the English second tier. This season new Blues boss Frank Lampard has given the attacking midfielder his chance and he has taken it with both hands.

He has scored twice and produced some all-around impressive displays. In fact, his performances have been that impressive that he has earned a first call-up to the England squad.

Daniel James (Manchester United)

The young Welsh winger had caught the attention at Swansea last season. In January, Leeds attempted to sign James, only for the move to fall through. Leeds loss is certainly the Red Devils gain.

The 21-year-old joined Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side for £15million and has enjoyed an impressive start to his United career. The winger has scored three times in his first four United appearances. He has also now seemingly nailed down a spot in the United team.

Sebastien Haller (West Ham)

The French striker cost West Ham a club-record fee of £45million when he joined from German club Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer. Haller had played a key role Frankfurt making it to the Europa League semi-final last season.

Haller has already scored three times in his first three appearances for the Irons. The Hammers were desperate for a quality striker in the summer. The 25-year-old looks like the perfect focal point of attack for Manuel Pellegrini’s exciting team.

Harry Wilson (Bournemouth)

Wilson’s situation is similar to Mason Mount’s, as he is a player who is contracted to a big Premier League club, but has spent the majority of the last few seasons out on loan. While Mount is now playing for his parent club, Wilson has been sent out on loan to Bournemouth.

The 22-year-old Wales international, an international teammate of Daniel James of course, has scored twice in his first three appearances for the Cherries. The most notable goal was a sublime free-kick in a 3-1 home defeat against reigning champions Manchester City.

With so much attacking talent in the Liverpool squad, it is understandable that the Welshman has not broken into the team. However, it seems the youngster is out to prove a point on the south coast.

Who has made the brightest start of the Premier League newcomers?
