The international break is over and that means the Premier League and FPL return this weekend. We have reached gameweek four of FPL and we think that we have done okay so far with our picks. Our gameweek three picks produced a decent haul. Here are our picks for gameweek four:
Nelson Semedo (Wolves, £4.9m)
We love attacking full-backs in FPL and the Portuguese star certainly likes to attack. The Portuguese international has fired in nine crosses, which is a tally of crosses that only two of his Wolves teammates can better.
Although Wolves have had a poor start to their league campaign, they have not been terrible defensively under new head coach, Bruno Lage. They have yet to keep a clean sheet, yet only reigning champions Manchester City have conceded fewer chances this season.
The other big thing is a massive fixture in Wolves favour. The team from Midlands next four games come against teams that rank two in the difficulty ranking. This weekend they visit new boys Watford, who have enjoyed mixed fortunes so far this term.
Ismail Sarr (Watford, £6m)
The 23-year-old winger has bags full of potential for a player valued at just £6m. The Senegalese international has scored once this season, but if he can find form could be one of the bargains of the season.
Just like Wolves, Watford’s fixtures are good for the next couple of weeks, including this weekend’s clash with the team from the Midlands. The Hornets also face Norwich and Newcastle after this weekend’s fixture. Those games should allow Sarr to add something else tangible to his season tally.
Abdoulaye Doucoure (Everton, £5.5m)
While everybody is talking about teammate Demarai Gray, the French midfielder’s good start to the Premier League campaign has rather gone under the radar. In the opening few games of the season, the former Watford man has produced a goal and an assist.
Those may not seem to be spectacular stats. However, it is his general positioning that has got people’s attention, as under Rafa Benitez he seems to be pushing forward more. Last season at times he looked like a shadow of the marauding midfield often on display at Watford. The arrival of Benitez seems to have reignited the marauder in him.
Everton have a relatively kind foreseeable fixture list, starting with a home game against Burnley on Monday night. Doucoure could once again prove to be a bargain FPL asset against the Clarets.
Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United, £12.5m)
We wouldn’t usually include such a premium player in our picks. However, the return of the veteran Portuguese superstar to the Manchester club is massive. It is also likely to be the only time we ever pick him as a one to watch.
Even at 36 years of age, the former Juventus forward can cause any team problems. Ronaldo is likely to make his second debut for the Red Devils against Newcastle this weekend before the fixture list gets trickier for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
Do you fancy Cristiano Ronaldo to score on his second debut and wish to place a bet on the forward? Well, look no further than our betting page for the bookmakers we recommend for your wager.
