Prediction and odds for the game: Milan (19/10) vs Chelsea (13/10)

We are backing the draw at odds of 5/2

When: Tuesday 11 October 2022, Kick-off 20:00

Where: The Giuseppe Meazza

On Tuesday night, Milan and Chelsea clash at the Giuseppe Meazza in what could be a pivotal game in the race for the last 16 in Group E of the Champions League.

Milan

To say Milan has made a mixed start to their Champions League campaign would be an understatement, as the Rossoneri have taken four points from their opening three matches in Group E.

A 3-0 hammering in the reverse fixture was a big blow to Stefano Pioli’s team’s chances of making the competition’s knockout stages. The defeat at Stamford Bridge means that Milan has won just two of their previous 12 matches in European football’s elite competition. However, Stefano Pioli’s men bounced back from the defeat in the reverse fixture by recording a 2-0 weekend win over Juventus.

The men from Milan have also won just one of their last seven home games in the Champions League. The 3-1 win over Dinamo Zagreb in their previous European home match ended a six-game winless run in the Champions League for the Rossoneri.

Chelsea

The Blues returned to the race for a place in the last 16 by winning the reverse fixture. The victory was much-needed, too, as they had taken just a point from their opening outings in the group. The win put Graham Potter’s men onto four points, level with their hosts but a point behind leaders Salzburg in a wide-open group.

The visitor’s recent record in the Champions League is a mixed one. However, they have won just two of their previous five games in European football’s primary competition.

The Blues have been tough to beat on their travels in the Champions League, as the surprise 1-0 loss in Zagreb ended a four-game unbeaten run on their travels for the visitors. The loss also ended a prolific run in front of goal for Chelsea on their travels, as they had scored at least two goals in their three previous games.

The Blues made it three straight wins in all competitions when they defeated Wolves 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. The victory and run should take them into this clash with confidence high.

Conclusion

Both teams recorded good victories at the weekend. Milan recovered well from their loss in south west London, while Chelsea looks to be building up some significant positive momentum. Milan are a tough team to beat at San Siro, and Chelsea doesn’t currently look like losing.

That is why we are backing the draw. The bet we are backing is for both teams to score, as the Rossoneri have been potent on home soil of late, and Chelsea has scored at least two goals in their three matches.

Our Tips: We are betting the draw at odds of 5/2 and/or both teams to score at odds of 3/4. (All odds are taken from Bet365)
