Prediction and odds for the game: Leicester (9/1) vs Manchester City (1/4)

We are backing both teams to score at odds of 3/1

When: Saturday 29th October 2022, Kick-off 12:30

Where: The King Power Stadium

In the Premier League’s early kick-off, Leicester City hosts reigning champions Manchester City at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester

After a woeful start to their Premier League campaign, things have turned around for the Foxes in recent games, as Brendan Rodgers’ team has now won three of their last five league matches while suffering just one defeat in the run.

One of the main reasons for Leicester’s recent improvement in form has been more solid defensive displays, as the Foxes have now kept four clean sheets in their last five matches in the Premier League. The defensive improvement and results have moved Leicester up to 17th place in the table.

The home side has also been potent in attack of late in the English top-flight, scoring at least two goals in five of their last seven games in the league.

Leicester’s recent home form has also improved, with the Foxes now unbeaten in three home matches in the English top flight. That defensive improvement is no more evident than in their recent home games, as they have kept three straight clean sheets on home soil.

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola’s side drew 0-0 with Dortmund last time out in the Champions League. The result mattered very little, as the Citizens had already sealed their place in the last 16 of the competition.

When it comes to the Premier League, City has won four of their last five matches in the English top flight while scoring at least three goals in four victories. The victories have moved City to within a point of league leaders Arsenal at the top of the table.

Star striker Erling Haaland took his Premier League goal tally to 17 goals with a brace against Brighton last time out. However, the Norwegian international was substituted at half-time against his former club Dortmund last time out. City head coach Guardiola later revealed that Haaland had a little knock and was also suffering from flu. The 22-year-old is now a doubt for this clash.

Conclusion

This game will be a bit more difficult for Manchester City than it would have been a few weeks ago, as Leicester look to have hit form and seem to have regained the ability to defend. We think the visitors will record a win, but backing the City win offers no value.

Instead, we are turning to the goals market for our tips. The first bet we are backing is for both teams to score, as both teams have been potent in front of goal in the Premier League late. The bet we are backing is for Jamie Vardy to be an anytime goalscorer. The veteran striker got back on the goal trail last time out, and he likes to score against City.

Our Tips: We are backing both teams to score at odds of 6/7 and/or Jamie Vardy to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 3/1. (All odds are taken from Bet365)
