Prediction and odds for the game:  Chelsea (13/8) vs Arsenal (8/5)

We are backing the away win

When: Sunday 06th November 2022, Kick-off 12:00

Where: Stamford Bridge

One of the biggest games of the Premier League takes place in Sunday’s early kick-off, as Chelsea hosts league leaders Arsenal in a London derby.

Chelsea

After an initial good start as Blues head coach Graham Potter has some issues to sort out. A midweek Champions win over Dinamo Zagreb was only his team’s second victory in five competitive games.

However, there remains optimism around the south west London club, as a 4-1 defeat at Potter’s former employers Brighton in their last league remains Chelsea’s only defeat under their new head coach in 11 matches in all competitions.

When it comes to the league table, the Blues are just two points off the Premier League’s top-four, despite their poor start to the campaign. They have also easily booked their place in the Champions League knockout stages.

Another major positive for the Blues is their recent home form, as they have not lost any of their previous nine home matches in the English top flight. That run includes winning three of their last four league outings at Stamford Bridge. They have also been prolific of late in their recent home matches in the Premier League, scoring at least twice in five of their last six games.

Arsenal

The visitors stellar campaign continued Thursday night as Mikel Arteta’s team recorded a 1-0 over FC Zurich in the Europa League. The win was Arsenal’s tenth victory in their last 12 matches in all competitions.

Arsenal are leading the way in the Premier League, having won a respectable 11 games out of their 13 in the English top flight. However, they only have a slim two-point lead over reigning champions Manchester City, who tend to get stronger as the season progress.

The Gunners need to continue their positive momentum to have any chance of mounting a realistic challenge to Pep Guardiola’s team, who have won the English title in four of the last five Premier League campaigns.

Arsenal’s recent record on their travels in the English top flight is a good one, winning four of their last six Premier League games away from home.

Conclusion

Chelsea certainly looks like a better team under Graham Potter. However, the Blues head into this game without several defenders, including Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Wesley Fofana. We think this could be key, so we are backing the away win. The other bet we are backing is over 2.5 goals, as we believe this could be a high-scoring encounter.

Our Tips: We are backing the away win at odds of 8/5 and/or over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 10/11. (All odds are taken from Bet365)
