Newcastle United have been linked with a summer move for AS Roma defender Roger Ibanez.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, the Brazilian 24-year-old has impressed Eddie Howe this season with the Magpies likely to be able to offer Champions League football next season.

Ibanez has been a regular starter for Jose Mourinho in a back three for Roma this season and his impressive performances since he made his loan move permanent from Atalanta in 2021 have made him a fan-favorite in Rome.

Newcastle’s defense is already seen as one of the tightest in the league and Ibanez would face stiff competition if he did move to St James Park, with Sven Botman, Fabian Schär, and club captain Jamaal Lascelles already establishing themselves as a key reason for Newcastle’s upturn in form this season.
