Legend Cristiano Ronaldo wants to cut his spell in Saudi Arabia short and return to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The Portugal captain, who scored an extraordinary 450 goals in 438 appearances in all competitions at Los Blancos is said to be feeling nostalgic about his time in Madrid and could be offered a return to the Spanish giants by President Florentino Perez as an ambassador, according to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional.

Real Madrid transfer news: Cristiano Ronaldo to return?

The 38-year-old, who only moved to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr on 1 January after his contract was terminated by mutual consent by Manchester United, is currently the highest-paid player in the world, currently earning an eye-watering $220m a year.

However, Portugal’s record goal scorer could be set to cut his time in Saudi Arabia short as he struggles to adapt to living in the capital city of Riyadh. Despite rumors he wishes to move back to Europe, Ronaldo’s form on the pitch remains impressive, scoring 12 goals in as many matches for his new club in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo is under contract at Al-Nassr until 2025, at which point he will be 40 years old.
