Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League side Aston Villa this morning.
The 27-year-old Spanish international has lost his place in the Real Madrid side this season to Brazilian attacker Rodrygo Goes, starting only twice in the Champions League this term. And with his contract running out on 30 June, it is looking increasingly likely that Asensio will be leaving Los Blancos this summer after nine years at the club.
Marco Asensio heading to Villa Park?
According to major Spanish news outlet MARCA, Aston Villa are pushing to sign Asensio, reportedly willing to offer the left-footed winger $8.8 million a year, double the amount the Spaniard is currently earning at the Bernabeu. The Villains are preparing themselves for a Spanish summer with new director of football Mateu Alemany arriving from Barcelona, joining fellow Spanish compatriot Unai Emery at Villa Park.
