USMNT star midfielder Weston McKennie is set to move to Brighton and Hove Albion on a permanent deal from Juventus this summer.

The holding midfielder has spent the second half of the season at Premier League strugglers Leeds United, establishing himself as a regular starter in the first team.

Fellow American Jesse Marsch brought McKennie to Elland Road but was sacked a week later and after Javi Gracia was dismissed earlier this month, the 24-year-old is currently playing under his third manager in less than four months at the club.

According to Leeds United fan website Marching On Together, Leeds have turned down the opportunity of signing McKennie on a permanent basis with Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton reportedly ready to fork out $27m in the summer for the midfielder.

McKennie will be a ready-made replacement for midfielders Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister who look destined to leave the Amex Stadium in the summer.
