USMNT attacker Timothy Weah could be set to leave Ligue 1 side Lille this summer with a number of top clubs linked.

According to The Athletic’s Tom Bogert and Paul Tenorio, Weah is being monitored by clubs from all the major five European leagues, with Marseille emerging as favorites to sign the American attacker.

Timothy Weah set to move on from Lille after four years

The 23-year-old, who was born in Brooklyn, moved to French side Lille from Paris Saint Germain and won his third Ligue 1 title in 2021 at the age of just 21. However, the winger’s career has somewhat stalled this season, failing to score once in 31 appearances in all competitions.

However, a move could be just what the USMNT star needs to kickstart his potential, and with former Arsenal and Manchester United man Alexis Sanchez rumored to be leaving the Stade Velodrome this summer, Weah could be an important member of a team set for Champions League football once more next season.
