Inter Miami are on the lookout for a new head coach after terminating the contract of Phil Neville as the side sit bottom of the Eastern Conference after 15 rounds of matches.

According to the official Inter Miami press release, assistant coach Jason Kreis will also depart the club, with Javier Morales taking over as the interim head coach until a successor is found.

Neville dismissed after poor Inter Miami results

It has been a damaging start to the new MLS season for Inter Miami, as they have lost ten of their 13 league matches to sit bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.

Neville was appointed head coach of the team back in January 2021, and the initial signs showed promise. He guided Inter Miami to the playoffs in 2022, but the team wasn’t able to kick on from that strong showing this season.

Miami will now assess their options ahead of making a permanent appointment in due course.
