Todd Boehly’s Chelsea are preparing themselves to receive an increased bid from Brighton and Hove Albion for young English defender Levi Colwill.
The 20-year-old shone last season on loan at the Seagulls, helping his side to a historic sixth-placed finish and qualify for European football for the first time in their history.
Levi Colwill impresses Brighton bosses enough to make club-record bid
As reported last week by Soccer Times, Chelsea had turned down a bid worth around $35m for the England under-21 international with incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino reportedly a huge fan of the Southampton-born star.
But according to Italian journalist Fabrizio, Brighton have come back with a new improved offer worth close to $50m for the center-back, a club-record bid for the Seagulls.

Only time will tell where Colwill’s future lies, but it is believed that Chelsea still have no intention of selling and see the youngster as a huge part of their long-term plans under Pochettino.
