Forward Christian Pulisic has publicly backed Gregg Berhalter to return as the USMNT’s head coach following the conclusion of the Gold Cup.
In a press conference held yesterday ahead of the US’ CONCACAF Nations League Semi-Final against Mexico next week, the Chelsea star said on his former boss Berhalter, “I think he should be considered. I think he did a great job with the team. He brought us a long way. I think a lot of people, and a lot of guys in the team especially would agree with that.”

According to The Inquirer’s Jonathan Tannenwald, the Hershey native, who has been linked recently with a move to Italian giants Juventus, was notably clear that he would be happy if Berhalter was restored to the job.

Berhalter’s contract expired following the USMNT’s departure at the Round of 16 stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and Anthony Hudson was initially brought in on an interim basis amid a scandal that broke between Berhalter and the family of US teammate Gio Reyna after Berhalter issued a statement saying that in 1991 he had kicked his future wife in the leg after an argument, who happened to be Danielle Reyna, the mother of Gio.
