Newcastle United made headlines late last week, as they submitted a $60 million bid for Italian international Nicolo Barella.

However, the Magpies could now be set to end their interest in the Inter Milan star, as the Serie A club is demanding that Eddie Howe’s side increase their offer by $30 million.

Newcastle may drop interest in Barella due to valuation

Newcastle believed that they could cut a deal with Inter, as the Italian giants are under increasing pressure to raise money this summer.

However, the Independent claims that the Magpies have grown frustrated during negotiations, with Inter demanding closer to $90 million for the EURO 2020 winner.

The Magpies are willing to walk away from any potential deal, and the club has already assessed a number of other options in the midfield area. Among those is AC Milan star Sandro Tonali, who could be available for a more competitive price.
