Aston Villa have expressed an interest to sign Tyler Adams from Leeds United this summer.

The USMNT skipper was one of Leeds’ best performers in what turned out to be an extremely disappointing campaign for the Whites, ending up finishing as the second-worst team in the Premier League last term.

Tyler Adams set for Premier League return with Aston Villa?

Aston Villa, who finished seventh last term and qualified for the UEFA Conference League, added free agent Youri Tielemans to their increasingly healthy-looking midfield options.

However, Unai Emery is reportedly a big admirer of Adams and still believes he has one more space to fit in another central midfield option alongside Douglas Luiz, Boubacar Kamara, and club captain John McGinn, who signed a new contract on Friday.

According to The Athletic, Emery has been tracking Adams for some time as he continues his squad rebuild and the 24-year-old is high on Villa’s list of summer targets. The New Yorker has not featured for his country this summer as he plots a return to training following a hamstring injury next month.
