South Korean central defender Kim Min-Jae will undergo a medical on Wednesday ahead of his $55m move to Bayern Munich according to reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The German champions entered the race late for Kim but immediately surpassed Manchester United into pole position once the 26-year-old informed them that they were his first choice.
Kim Min-Jae to become first choice at Allianz Arena
With Lucas Hernandez departing the Allianz Arena, and Dayot Upamecano struggling for form last season, Kim Min-Jae will almost certainly become an immediate first choice under head coach Thomas Tuchel.
Despite playing just one year in Italy, Kim became an immediate fan favorite with the notoriously passionate Napoli faithful and was one of the key facilitators as to why the Blues picked up their first Serie A title in 33 years.
And Napoli, who recently appointed Rudi Garcia to replace the outgoing Luciano Spalletti as head coach, are not wasting any time in their attempts to replace their South Korean stalwart with the Atheltic’s David Ornstein reporting that they have had an opening bid for Wolves central defender Max Kilman worth $38m rejected by the Premier League outfit.
