Liverpool manager Steven Gerrard has taken over at Saudi Arabia Pro League side Al Ettifaq.

The 43-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by Premier League side Aston Villa back in October after Gerrard led Villa to just two wins in their first 12 league games last season.

Since then, the Liverpool legend has taken up media work as a television pundit for BT Sport and Channel 4 in the UK but has now returned to management in preparation for the start of the new Pro League next month.

And Gerrard has already been linked with returning to Anfield for help, with the Daily Mail reporting he is interested in bringing Reds captain Jordan Henderson to Al Ettifaq, as well as Chelsea’s wantaway forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyand and out-of-favor Aston Villa attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho- a former teammate of Gerrard’s at Liverpool.
