Sadio Mane is reportedly close to leaving Bayern Munich after entering talks to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.

The 31-year-old struggled to find the form he showed at Liverpool during his first season in Bavaria last term- scoring only seven league goals from 25 appearances.

Mane was fined in April by manager Thomas Tuchel after reportedly punching teammate Leroy Sane following Bayern’s 3-0 defeat in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at Manchester City.

According to The Athletic’s Guillermo Rai, a representative from Mane’s agency, Roof, met Al Nassr sporting director Goran Vucevic at the Pine Cliffs Hotel in Portugal to discuss a potential summer switch.

And speaking to German television channel SPORT1, Tuchel said of Mane ahead of the Bavarian’s pre-season: “(Mane) fell short of expectations. The competitive situation is extremely high, the starting position is not easy for him. The player knows that too, he knows my opinion and the opinion of the club.”

Following the club’s acquisition of Ronaldo last Christmas, Al Nassr have gone on to snap up Marcelo Brozovic from Inter Milan, Seko Fofana from Lens and will imminently welcome the arrival of left-back Alex Telles from Manchester United this summer.
