Manchester United remain in the market for a new central midfielder this summer, and are keeping tabs on Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka.

The German international was among the options considered by the Red Devils in January, before United eventually agreed on a short-term loan deal for Marcel Sabitzer.

Leon Goretzka not part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans

United remain alert to the developments in Bavaria, and Erik ten Hag is reportedly a huge fan of the 28-year-old, according to Sky Germany, via Daily Mail.

United’s main priority throughout the summer has been a new striker, but a deal for Rasmus Holjund looks set to be announced over the weekend. The club will then look to add another midfielder, with a move for Sofyan Amrabat among the likely options.

However, the latest reports have indicated that the Red Devils haven’t ruled out a move for the German international. Goretzka isn’t likely to be part of Tuchel’s plans for the forthcoming season, and rumors have indicated that the club will listen to offers.
