Last season’s Champions League finalists Inter Milan remain in the race to sign USMNT’s new star striker Folarin Balogun from Arsenal.
Balogun saw an opening bid from French club Monaco rejected out of hand by the Gunners but the Monegasques are set to come back with an improved offer in the coming days as reported yesterday.
Folarin Balogun looking for first-team football
The 22-year-old showed his true potential with 21 league goals for French club Reims last season which led Monaco to make their first bid for the USMNT star after first-choice striker Breel Embolo ruptured his ACL in pre-season training.
Despite it remaining unclear if they have the funds to afford Balogun, Inter have not dropped out of the race to sign young star Balogun. According to Italian journalist Matteo Bonetti, the Nerazzuri are hoping the fact they can offer Balogun Champions League football next term will convince him to agree personal terms with the Italian giants after they lost out to Atalanta for the signature of Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca.
