Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker has been offered a new improved deal to stay at the Etihad Stadium beyond next season.

After the departure of club captain Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona last month, Walker has been promoted by City to vice-captain this summer. And according to Fabrizio Romano, Walker’s experience as well as his world-famous pace and strength is still seen as invaluable to head coach Pep Guardiola.

The news comes just a day after City officials finalized a contract offer for Walker’s teammate Bernardo Silva– who looks set to stay at the Etihad Stadium.

The final decision will be up to Walker himself now: either extend his six-year stay in Manchester or look for another fresh challenge and join the Bavarians following their tenth Bundesliga title in a row.
