Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of central defender Micky Van De Ven from Wolfsburg for $55m on a six-year deal.
The 22-year-old was in attendance to watch his new teammates at the North London Stadium for Spurs’ 5-1 pre-season friendly victory on Sunday against Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou’s favored formation of 4-3-3 is likely to see Van De Ven as his starting left-sided central defender alongside World Cup winner Cristian Romero. Van De Ven’s signing was confirmed via the club’s official social media platforms today and will see the former Dutch under-21 captain wear the number 37 for the Lilywhites.

Speaking of his move to the club’s in-house media team, Van De Ven said, “I know Spurs is a beautiful club, an amazing club, a top club in the Premier League. Those are the things I know. Every time I see a player sign for Spurs, I think, ‘Wow, it would be amazing to sign for an amazing club like that’. I’m so excited to be part of the future of Spurs.”
