Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wants to bolster his wide options this summer and is expected to make an opening bid for Jeremy Doku in the coming days.
The 21-year-old does not immediately fit the profile of an ideal Guardiola-type player and is best known for his mazy dribbles and inconsistent, but at times breath-taking, end product.
Jeremy Doku set for Etihad Stadium switch?
According to The Daily Telegraph’s Mike McGrath however, the Belgian international is being strongly considered by the Cityzens as they look for replacements after losing Riyad Mahrez to Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli.
City have also reportedly rejected an offer from Brighton worth $38.1m for fellow winger Cole Palmer after his stunning opening goal in the Community Shield final at Wembley on Sunday against Arsenal. Guardiola is concerned his squad is not ready to fight on all fronts this season after their treble-winning campaign last term and sees Palmer having an important role to play alongside fellow youth-team academy graduate Phil Foden.
