Eric Dier could be on the verge of a summer exit from Tottenham after being left out of Ange Postecoglou’s first Premier League squad.
According to reports in the Daily Mail, the 29-year-old is reportedly weighing up his option after failing to be named on the bench for Tottenham’s opening match of the campaign against Brentford.
Eric Dier exclusion leads to questions
Dier was believed to be part of Postecoglou’s plans this term. But, his omission from the matchday squad at the expense of Davidson Sanchez has led to questions.
The Colombian defender was nearing an exit from the club a couple of weeks ago, but the move broke down.
It seems that the former Ajax defender is now above Dier in the pecking order, after playing over an hour in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Brentford.
Dier will likely look for clarification surrounding his future, as the central defender looks for regular game time this term in order to force his way back into Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
