Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix has been identified by Liverpool as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Felix has been ostracized by Atleti manager Diego Simeone and according to Portuguese news outlet A Bola, the Reds see the Portuguese star as an option if they decide to sell star forward Salah to Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad with The Tigers preparing a $162m offer.
Joao Felix set for Anfield switch?
Felix got a taste for Premier League action after spending the second half of last season at Chelsea and was reportedly happy to stay at Stamford Bridge before new head coach Mauricio Pochettino vetoed a permanent transfer.
However, according to A Bola, Felix is not the only name on Jurgen Klopp’s late summer shopping list with Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch and Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure also potential targets.
A decision over Salah’s future is expected to be made by Monday which will give time to authorize a move for Felix if Salah is sold.
