Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker has signed a new two-year contract extension keeping him at the Cityzens until June 2026.

The 33-year-old has been an ever-present for the Blues this season after admitting in an interview with the BBC earlier this month that he was close to joining Bayern Munich this summer.

In an entertaining announcement video, Walker confirmed he was not leaving the club in the style of Jordan Belfort, as depicted by Leonardo Di Caprio, in the film The Wolf of Wall Street.

Speaking to the club’s in-house media, Walker said, “We have no excuses here at City. Everything that we’ve here… the facilities, the chefs, the kitmen, the nutritionists, it’s all top.

“It gives us no excuse not to go out and perform at our very best. There are no excuses”.

Walker, a potential captain for City this season following the departure of Ilkay Gundogan, has made 260 appearances so far for the Sky Blues on his way to winning 15 major trophies at the Etihad Stadium since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur in 2017.
