Newcastle face UEFA final after rule breach

Excitement levels are high ahead of Newcastle’s return to the Champions League after a 20-year absence on Tuesday.

However, the Magpies could face a fine after it was reported by Sky Sports that the club had breached UEFA rules revolving around pre-match preparations.

Eddie Howe spoke about the weather issues that his side encountered, which meant that they were delayed by two hours.

UEFA rules indicate that teams must hold their pre-match press conferences between midday and 8pm local time before the match is played.

However, the storm that swept through Milan meant that Howe wasn’t able to stage his pre-match press conference until 9pm local time.
